Mathematics and Science Program

A mind that is stretched to a new idea
never returns to its original dimension.
--Oliver Wendel Holmes

Our knowledgeable and dedicated teachers offer private and semi-private instruction in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus as well as Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Computer Science. We offer remedial classes geared directly to school curricula, but our accelerated and enhanced curricula modeled upon private and foreign schools provides students with the required background to move far ahead of standard school curricula, or even allow them to obtain college credit through our Advanced Placement classes.

Mandelbrot Sets Our Mathematics Program, based on world-class standards and instructional materials, prepares students for Algebra by the beginning of the sixth grade. At this level, our courses cover all the fundamentals such as fractions, percents, decimals, numerical operations, word problems, and simple statistics, but most importantly, introduces Pre-Algebra and Algebra. Under this regimen, students can proceed easily through Algebra I and II, and receive an early introduction to Trigonometry and Geometry, before graduating from Middle School. In High School, we recommend a year of Geometry and Trigonometry, followed by Pre-calculus and eventually AP Calculus and/or AP Statistics. Our Computer Science Lab helps motivate students to learn and use computers productively and creatively. This will provide them the required background for advanced computer science class, including AP Computer Science.

We encourage highly motivated young scientists to emerge from our classes. But any student must also receive the basic foundations of science which will help them become successful and enlightened individuals, regardless of their future field of choice. NASA Mars Program The skills and knowledge students gain from Science is especially critical in the highly technical world of today. Students should learn Science hands on at an early age, so that they can be better prepared for the high level of formation expected of them in the best High Schools and Preparatory Schools. This formation includes: basic concepts of Chemistry and Physics and a basic knowledge of organisms and ecosystems. As early as Middle School, students can receive an introduction to the Periodic Table and Newton's Laws, some knowledge of evolution and genetics, cell biology, in addtion to zoology, anatomy and even some physiology. This training, coupled with a solid and rigorous foundation in Mathematics will allow them to optimize their transition into High School and their acceptance into reputed institutions. High school students should receive a thorough and in-depth preparation in Physics, Chemistry and Biology which will permit them to advance into the corresponding Advanced Placement Courses, as soon they are qualified.

While strong scientific knowledge and fundamental mathematical concepts are covered thoroughly in our classes. we seek to form well-rounded individuals who not only understand physical phenomenons, but realize their own impact on the universe. Through our Integrated Science Program, we teach the future generation not just the how of science, but the why and the what for. We do not seek to coerce young minds to blindly accept theories, but encourage them to make their own conclusions based on lab experiments, logical thinking and sound reasoning. For this reason, we emphasize well-written lab reports, scientific debates, and a strong mathematical formation. This will allow young minds to become not just followers, but leaders in their fields, whether they become engineers, researchers, or even found their own company. In the tradition of past scientists and philosophers, we believe that there is no real divide between a classical education rooted in language and literature and a mathematical formation grounded in logic and keen observation. In short, our students understand with Descartes that:

"I think, therefore I am"
